Reveal and Detonate is a survey of current photography practice in Mexico centered on a curatorial discourse that associates pieces by artists from various generations and regions of the country who come together and intermingle in order to sketch out a complex, contradictory and disturbing map.

This show posits a vision of current Mexican photography based on both its forms and contents, presenting viewers with questions or issues that arise from the works themselves. Drawing comparisons that evince the formal and conceptual transformations of the photographic, Reveal and Detonate is inspired by a specific social and political moment in Mexico: it gives spectators a glimpse of this complex map so they may find new ways to approach the photographic medium, uncovering the contradictions and needs implicit in the individual and collective experiences of artists in the time in which we live.
