Launched in 2005, the reGeneration project is devoted to the international emerging photographic scene. It has become one of the trademarks of the Musée de l’Elysée and demonstrates its innovative and global ambition.

More than eighty art schools responded to the museum’s call for applications; each recommended up to five of their best recently graduated students. After careful review of the 400 portfolios received, three major —non exhaustive— themes representative of the emerging art scene became apparent: the variety of approaches for dealing with documentary subjects; the question of memory; and the abundance of aesthetic photographic expressions inspired by the history of the medium and, more broadly, by various artistic forms (sculpture, painting, dance, etc.).

Including traditional prints, artists’ books, multimedia installations and videos, this third edition is more generally representative of the «permeable» nature of photography.

Includes: Magdalena Baranya, Emile Barret, Mohit Bhatia, Giacomo Bianchetti, Rachel Boillot, Jan Brykczyński, Delphine Burtin, Juno Calypso, Rachel Cox, Angélica Dass , Emilie De Battista, Michael Etzensperger, Veronika Geiger, Anna Gutová et Gabriel Fragner, Artur Gutowski, Elizabeth Hewson, Karl Isakson, Jung A Kim, Jonna Kina, Karel Koplimets, Marek Kucharski y Diana Lelonek, Ola Lanko, Jae Hoon Lee, Michael Liani, Silin Liu, Emily Macinnes, Robert Mainka, Irene Muñoz Martin, Loan Nguyen, Nobukho Nqaba, Martyna Pawlak, Emilio Pemjean (ES/CL), Constance y Philippine Proux (FR), Laurence Rasti (CH), Simon Rimaz, Jacinthe Robillard, Paul Samuels, Ulrike Schmitz, Juuke Schoorl, Corinne Silva, Sara Skorgan Teigen, Gaia Squarci, Harit Srikhao, Benjamin Swanson, Jennifer Thoreson, Sinan Tuncay, Matt Waples, Piotr Zbierski, Tereza Zelenkova, Li Zhi.
