Lee Miller is one of the most renowned photographers of the surrealist vanguard and, to a certain extent, one of the most solid female figures in the artistic scene of her time. Her home in East Sussex, England, holds a collection comprised of more than 60 thousand negatives. The exhibition is based on this collection and shows more than 100 photographs that include the most significant moments of her work: her study in Paris (1929-1932), her work in New York (1932-1934), her life in Egypt (1934-1939), the war in Europe (1944-1945) and the postwar (1945-1946), as well as an important collection of portraits of artists and friends (1946-1964). The photograph she took of Max Ernst and Leonora Carrington during the six days Miller spent in St. Martin d'Ardèche, France will be displayed—an image the British painter requested not be published while she was alive.
