This is a selection of works and artists who see photography as a field for the articulation of discourse, where visual representations are constructed and interact through two-dimensional and three-dimensional devices, some lacking in movement, others immersed in the conventions of audiovisual language.

One of the show’s goals is to foster an interchange of interpretations, approaches and conceptualizations regarding images, incorporating characteristic photographic tools and elements in order to process and re-signify them as part of a critical reading. This is carried out from a formal perspective involving the domain of signs, their various characterizations (index, icon, symbol) and the implications they have for spectators depending on the subjects that nourish each of the participating artists’ projects.

The exhibition features various generations of Mexican and foreign artists residing in the country. There is an emphasis on the work of artists from Northern Mexico, and on the wide range of media employed in the pieces selected.
