The Academia de Artes Visuales called its students and ex-students to participate in an exhibition with the theme «Collections, collecting and archive.» Ten works will be selected by a jury comprised of AAVI professors. The goal of the exhibition is to bring together photographs from the participants’ family or personal archives, as well as images that reference the concepts of archive and collection. Each piece and body of work will provoke reflection on the meaning of collecting, based on such related questions: Why do we collect? What types of photographs do we collect? Who collects? Is photography a collectable object?
