IRL (In Real Life)

This series of photographs presents objects found in familiar places, such as one's home or on the street. The images are a record of ephemeral sculptures or constructions that are created almost involuntarily. The qualities of the objects portrayed—or the context in which they are found—bring about natural visual phenomena that bear a certain likeness to digital manipulation tools.

In Real Life is a series of still lifes that focuses on everyday objects and points out their potential to be transformed, through photography, into much more complex and disconcerting structures.

Mexico City, 1985. Studied visual art at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" and at the École Supérieure de Beaux Arts in Angers, France. His work has been featured in group shows in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Belgium and Germany. His work has also been published in various magazines such as Vice Italy, Juxtapoz and HolyGhostZine.
