Rubble


Rubble is a landscape in ruins in the desert of Sonora, where objects deprived of their utilitarian function are collected and presented as elements composing a kind of nature that contradicts their natural condition, placed in a characteristic terrain on the outskirts of Hermosillo.

→ Bio


Mexico City, 1984. Studied visual art and graphic design in Hermosillo, Sonora, and participated in the Programa de Fotografía Contemporánea, Noroeste 2014, as well as in various workshops and seminars at 17, Instituto de Estudios Críticos, Vico Itinerante, ISC and Musas. His work has been featured in group shows at Mexicali Rose, 206 Arte Contemporáneo, el Rastro, and the Museo de Arte de Sinaloa. His solo shows include Despojo at the Museo de Arte de Sonora and La metamorfosis de los otros at the Instituto Sonorense de Cultura. He was awarded the purchase prize at the Concurso de Fotografía Contemporánea de México 2012 and the purchase prize at the Séptima Bienal de Artes Visuales de Sonora 2010. He has received two grants from the Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Sonora (in 2012-13 and 2008-09) and the Fonca's Jóvenes Creadores grant (2013-14).
