Visual Aphorisms (Landscape Nº 7)

I
Space is immaterial, even the most solid construction is reduced to dust.

The landscape does not exist and the horizon is intangible.

Looking is our eyes' way of thinking and a vital act of choice in a sea of stimulation.

Aglae Cortés

→ Bio

Guaymas, 1977. Studied graphic communication design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. She participated in the Seminario de Fotografía Contemporánea 2011 at the Centro de la Imagen, and the Programa de Fotografía Contemporánea 2013 in Hidalgo. Her work has been featured in group shows in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Venezuela and Spain. Her solo shows include Tratado visual sobre el vacío in 2012 at the Museo Casa Diego Rivera. She has received the Fonca's Jóvenes Creadores grant (2012-13), the first prize at the Art of Photography Show 2012, and her work was selected for Trasatlántica in PhotoEspaña 2012. Her work has been published in magazines such as Indie Rocks! and La Tempestad, in the catalogue of The Art of Photography Show and in online publications such as LAT Photo Magazine, Fórum Latinoamericano de Fotografía and F-Stop Magazine.
